The Knesset plenum approved on Monday evening, by a majority of 58 to 56, the Finance Committee's decision regarding a tax on disposable utensils.
The order was issued following a government decision which aims to reduce the use of disposable plastic utensils by imposing a purchase tax on plates, bowls, cups, straws, knives, forks and spoons made of plastic or containing plastic.
