German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced that from December 28, private gatherings for vaccinated people will be limited to 10 people.
"A fifth wave is threatening Germany, especially because of the omicron strain," said Scholz, who estimated that the Omicron would pervade Germany within weeks.
