Spain recorded 49,823 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest daily figure in the country since the start of the pandemic.
Almost half of the cases are of the Omicron strain of the virus. Spain has recorded 5,585,054 cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic.
