A spike has been recorded in recent days in the number of people who are sick with the flu and who are connected to ventilators in intensive care units. Most of them are unvaccinated young people, some with background illnesses.
According to Kan 11 News, the directors of the intensive care units in the hospitals fear an overload due to a combination of morbidity of COVID-19 and the flu, as there are only 390 beds in these units and 70 are already occupied.
