The Labor and Welfare Committee today (Monday) approved for a second and third reading the extension for two years of the validity of the temporary provision that allows a parent whose child has died not to retire from work at retirement age.
The law was set as a temporary provision that will expire in a few days - and has now been extended for another two years. The employer will not be able to force such an employee to retire from work, for four years. According to estimates by the Ministry of Social Equality, in the last two years the size of the group to which the law applies is about 5,300 senior citizens.
