A source in the Ministry of Health said that there could be a COVID-19 outbreak in mid-January due to the rising morbidity and expected increase in the number of people infected with the Omicron strain.
The ministry is investigating several hundred Israelis who are suspected of exposure to or having been infected with the new strain.
