Trains stop between Ashdod and Ashkelon stations due to a demonstration that took place in violation of instructions on the track near Nitzanim. Transfers for the passengers from the stations were provided.
The junction in question is part of a road that was closed earlier this year according to the instructions of the traffic commissioner, after a bridge was completed that provides an alternative level separation near the junction, allowing its closure while maintaining the safety of all road users and improving train service.
