Dr. Yifat Shasha-Biton has appointed a replacement for the now-vacant position of director-general of the Education Ministry, after Biton, the Education Minister, fired the previous person in the post due to disputes regarding COVID inoculations in schools.
The new appointment is Dalit Stauber, who served as director-general between 2011 and 2013, under Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
Since then, Stauber has worked as a lecturer at the Ono Academic Campus, and has been a faculty member in the Mandel Program for Educational Leadership. From 2016, Stauber has been a member of the board of the Israel Broadcasting Corporation.
