State Prosecutor Amit Eisman has ordered Israel Police to reopen the case investigating the abuse of female IDF soldiers working at the Gilboa prison. Several officials have alleged that the soldiers were handed over to Arab security prisoners to "keep them happy," in a case dating back many years that was closed at the time, supposedly due to insufficient evidence.

"Following testimony that was heard by the government committee investigating the escape of security prisoners from Gilboa Prison, the Prosecution Service has ordered the Northern (criminal) department, based on the opinion of the State Prosecution, to reopen the inquiry," the Justice Ministry announced.
