The Attorney General filed an objection to a settlement with the Jerusalem District Court as part of a request for approval to conduct a class action lawsuit filed against the insurance companies.

The lawsuit was filed claiming that the insurance companies pay amounts that have been rendered obligatory in judgments whether given following agreements between the parties or given after a decision in the procedure itself, after the due date without attaching to these payments linkage and interest differences as required by interest and linkage law.

As part of the settlement agreement, it was agreed that the insurance companies will amend the settlement notes accepted by them so that the settlement notes will be addressed at the date of payment, which will apply within 30 days from the date of payment, unless explicit / special agreement is reached between the injured party and the insurance company. It was also agreed that the plaintiffs would be rewarded with NIS 86,500 and a fee to their attorneys in the total amount of NIS 900,500, without any compensation or benefit to the group members.
