A 2000-year-old synagogue from the Second Temple period has recently been unveiled in Migdal, a large Jewish settlement from the Second Temple period, which served as the main base of Yosef ben Matityahu in his war against the Romans in the Galilee during the Great Revolt.
This is the second synagogue from this period that was uncovered in Migdal, and this is the first case that has been exposed so far for the existence of two synagogues in any locality from the Second Temple period, a period when the Temple in Jerusalem was still standing.
