The head of the IDF Technology and Logistics Division, Major General Michel Yanko, has signed a letter of dismissal for Lt. Gen. Dan Sharoni.
Lieutenant Colonel Sharoni will be removed from his position as commander of a military driving school. Simultaneously with the officer's dismissal, criminal proceedings are underway against him. Lieutenant Colonel Dan Sharoni was arrested on suspicion of committing sexual offenses and invasion of privacy.
A hearing will be held today on the military prosecution's request to extend the officer's detention for investigative purposes. The hearing will be held in the special court in the Kirya in Tel Aviv.
"The IDF takes all sexual harassment very seriously and will continue to pursue a policy of zero patience towards perpetrators," the IDF commented.
