Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz addressed concerns about the new strain at a press conference.
"We assumed that a new variant would arrive. Thanks to careful supervision of the issue, we quickly located this variant as well - and we were among the first to locate and isolate it. The matter is under control, there is no reason for anxiety and panic," Horowitz said.
