US President Joe Biden will restrict travel from South Africa and seven other countries starting Monday, following the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, CNN reports.

Acting on advice from Dr. Anthony Fauci and the CDC, the US will restrict travel from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique and Malawi, according to the report.
