A spokesman for the World Health Organization said that after the meeting that will open in Geneva on the new strain B.1.1.529, guidelines will be published for countries with possible steps to be taken.
The speaker further said that it will be several weeks before the effect of the strain is understood, how contagious it is and whether the vaccines affect it.
