In the government investigation committee for the escape of the six security prisoners from the Gilboa prison in early September, the testimony of the prison commander, Gondar Deputy Chief Freddy Ben Sheetrit, will be heard this morning (Wednesday).
"The feelings against me have been very difficult since the night of the incident. I was accused of being responsible for the failure of the night of the escape by any means," Ben Sheetrit said at the beginning of his testimony. "I was marked by the Commissioner of the Prison Service as responsible for the incident and as someone who failed. She appealed to the Minister of Internal Security to oust me even before the incident was investigated."
