A survey by the Israel Democracy Institute shows that for the first time, most Israelis support a professional army.
MK Mossi Raz of Meretz responded: "The public has already understood that this is the only way to equalize the burden, streamline the army, reduce economic disparities and strengthen the economy. If I form a coalition agreement, I will try to advance my bill to abolish compulsory conscription."
