Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai arrived at the scene of the deadly attack in the Old City of Jerusalem and said that the terrorist was known to the police.
"The police response was quick, this is a serious incident - carried out by a source familiar to us," Shabtai said. "We will continue to investigate the circumstances and the immediate circles of the perpetrator until we find the verdict."
"There is no doubt that this is a very serious attack, carried out by a source familiar to us, but not at the military level. The police response was very fast, within 32 seconds they sought contact and eliminated the terrorist," the commissioner added.
