Following the terrorist attack in the Old City of Jerusalem Sunday morning, the Im Tirzu movement called for the arrest of Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib, the deputy chairman of the outlawed northern branch of the Islamic Movement.
"We have been warning for weeks about the rise of incitement regarding the Temple Mount. We warned of the return to activity of the deputy leader of the northern faction of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib, for his calls to 'expel the filth' from the Temple Mount. We turned to the security services, the police and the Public Security Minister and said that it was only a matter of time before the incitement turned into murder. We call again to immediately arrest Khatib and the other instigators with him. The blood libels on the Temple Mount are life-threatening and must not be confronted with indifference," the movement said.
