US President Joe Biden spoke at the climate summit in Glasgow.
"The science is clear - this is a fateful decade. The climate crisis is not a hypothetical threat, it is ruining people's lives and livelihoods every day. The US will reduce greenhouse emissions by 2030," he said.
The US president added: "We will prove to the world that the United States is not just talking and debating but also an example to the world."
