MK Nir Barkat (Likud) appealed to the Attorney General and the Registrar of Nonprofit Associations to open an investigation into the "Aid 48" organization, which was recently alleged to have ties with Hamas officials and whose management was alleged to have ties to a convicted terrorist.
In a letter, MK Barkat wrote: "It has been revealed that this association transfers money to terrorist families and allegedly assists terrorist organizations. These are very disturbing findings that raise legal questions and doubts about the association's legitimacy, members, and actions. In light of this, I ask that a thorough investigation be carried out to prevent Israeli money from going to terrorists and their families."
