US Deputy Secretary of State Brian McKeon said last night that Israel would have to give "active approval" for the opening of a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.
"It is my understanding that we will have to get the consent of the host government to open any diplomatic facility," McKeon said in a Senate debate.
