The Israeli Ambassador to the United States and the United Nations, Gilad Arden, welcomed the statement of the US Secretary of Homeland Security on moving forward towards waiving the need for a visa from Israel to America for visits of less than 90 days.

"We continue to work with all our might so that the citizens of Israel can enter the United States freely and without the need for a visa, as it should be with our closest ally. The clear statement of the Minister of Homeland Security Mayorkas, who is professionally charged with the issue and with whom I have met several times to discuss the topic, is a very significant step forward toward achieving this goal," said Arden.
