The mayor of Ariel, Eli Shabiru, responded to the announcement by the Minister of Housing regarding the marketing approval of approximately 1,300 housing units in Judea and Samaria.
"Judea and Samaria are the borders of the State of Israel and the continuous development of the area and the construction of housing units are a strategic need to maintain the strength of the State of Israel. This is in the national interest."
"I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Minister of Construction and Housing Zeev Elkin on the government's decision to approve new housing units and I believe this is not a one-time event but a clear policy aimed at turning Judea and Samaria into a sought-after area with great economic and social potential."
