Kevin Chertok, a German citizen, was extradited to Germany from Israel on Thursday in order to stand trial on charges of committing fraud and belonging to a criminal organization. The trial is part of the German government's crackdown on a criminal organization that has swindled dozens of victims, mainly German, out of large sums of money.
Chertok has an Israeli residency permit and was arrested in Israel in May at the request of the German government, which then asked for his extradition.
The organization is believed to have used fictitious names in order to approach potential investors, presenting them with fictitious financial prospects for large returns. It is thought that the criminals managed to net around six million Euro via their criminal practices.
