Following the intervention of the former chairman of the Finance Committee, MK Moshe Gafni, the Synergy Cable plant in Sderot was excluded from the import reform proposed by the government. The plant is no longer considered in danger of either closing down or laying off workers. Gafni commented that 'This is great news for both workers and owners no longer endangered by a flood of cheap Turkish goods."
