MK Orit Strook, chairman of the Religious Zionism party, has responded to reports that the US administration is likely to present the Israeli government with a fait accompli with regard to the opening of a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.
"Establishing a consulate in Jerusalem is not merely a de facto division of the city," Strook said. "It also amounts to a public announcement that Israel has become a banana republic."
