Following reports that a photograph was taken of the legal adviser to the Knesset's Foreign Affairs & Security Committee together with terrorist supporters, Shas MK Moshe Arbel has written to the Knesset's legal adviser, Sagit Afik, and also to Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy.
"The position of legal adviser to the Knesset's Foreign Affairs & Security Committee is one of the most important and sensitive positions in the Knesset, and grants that person access to sensitive security and intelligence information," he wrote. "There is no question that leaks of such material, even small leaks, have the potential of causing severe harm to national security and could even lead to loss of life.
"Due to the social ties that have been revealed between the legal adviser and extremist elements who support and incite toward terrorism, it must be ensured that the Committee chairman's appropriate classification and compartmentalization rules prevent leakage of sensitive security materials," he concluded.
