The prosecution announced on Thursday that it will appeal the decision to release Zvi Gur, who murdered eight-year-old Oron Yarden in 1980.
The Israel Prisons Service parole board on Wednesday granted a request for early release for Gur, who is said to be terminally ill with cancer, on medical grounds. Gur, 74, served 41 years in prison for the kidnapping and murder of Yarden.
