President Isaac Herzog awarded German Chancellor Angela Merkel an honorary scholarship in her name, which will be awarded each year to outstanding scientists at the Weizmann Institute.
"On behalf of the people of Israel, I thank you for your leadership," the President addressed the Chancellor, adding: "No one can doubt your tremendous contribution to the strength of the ties between Israel and Germany."
