Educational system: Only 64% teaching staff eligible for Green Pass

With the move to the new Green Pass, tens of thousands of teachers have lost their eligibility for the Green Pass and will not be able to enter educational institutions - unless they do a corona test, Israel Hayom reported.

According to the ministry, only about 64% of teaching staff are currently eligible for a Green Pass, meaning that about 75,000 teachers are not eligible, and their entry into kindergartens or schools is conditional on a test every three days.

According to the decision of the Corona Cabinet, teachers who do not get vaccinated and refuse to perform corona tests - are not allowed into to educational institutions and are not entitled to a salary, because they do not work.

So far it seems that only a limited number of a few hundred teachers refuse to both get vaccinated and perform tests - except that if the scope of this group increases significantly, the Ministry of Education will find itself in shortage of teaching staff.
