Dr. Dror Dicker, the director of the coronavirus department in Hasharon hospital, told Reshet Bet this morning that it is vital to ensure that the influenza virus does not begin to spread alongside coronavirus.
"Almost all the people we have hospitalized, between the ages of 20 and 90, are not fully vaccinated," he said. "This is very problematic, as we're seeing very tough cases among this group, tougher than we've seen in previous waves of the virus."
Dicker added that, "Fortunately, last year we didn't have cases of coronavirus coupled with influenza, but we're very worried about this coming year. If people start arriving in hospital with both viruses, we'll run out of beds. That's why getting vaccinated is critical."
