In an interview with Galei Tzahal, Prof. Salman Zarka, the COVID czar, referred to the decision to open the school year on September 1.
"Returning to school is a goal that is important to us as a society. We sat and reached the outline, but it is not hermetic, there will be cases of infection and more classes will be closed. We have not found a formula and no magic solution," said Zarqa, adding, ""Along with the legitimate desire to open the school year, more steps need to be taken to reduce morbidity. I don't know if we are at the height of the fourth wave - the numbers are rising day by day."
