New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that she has decided to extend the closure across the country until 31 August.
"We need more certainty. We have not yet reached the peak of the outbreak," Ardern said, after 35 infections were diagnosed in New Zealand in the past day, 33 of them in Auckland and two more in the capital Wellington.
