The chairman of the U.S. Army Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, told reporters that the Taliban's sudden takeover of Afghanistan could not have been anticipated.
"There was nothing that I or anyone else saw and that testified to the collapse of this army and government within 11 days," Milley said in a conversation with reporters.
