The Maccabi health fund reports that during the first eight hours of its operation, its system for making appointments for COVID vaccine booster shots was inundated with requests.
The government has just approved booster shots for the 50-60 age group, and Maccabi reports that over 14,000 appointments have already been made. More than 2000 people will receive their third vaccine dose today.
"Maccabi is boosting its vaccination staff in clinics and vaccination stations, and is preparing to administer over 30,000 vaccine doses per day," the health fund said in a statement.
