One of the leading rabbis in the religious Zionist movement and head of the Har Hamor yeshiva, Rabbi Tzvi Tau, called on followers to resist the kashrut reform pushed by Minister of Religious Services, MK Matan Kahana.

At a meeting of the Chief Rabbinate, Tau said that one should be willing to "sacrifice his life" before transgressing the legal kashrut code required by the status quo.
