The Ministry of Health reports that since midnight 2,101 new cases have been diagnosed, out of about 57,500 tests performed, or 4.28% - the highest percentage in several months.
363 individuals are seriously ill, 50 of whom are on respirators.
The death toll stands at 6541, 64 of whom passed away this month.
