MK Michal Shir of the New Hope party submitted a bill according to which an individual indicted on criminal charges would not be able to serve as prime minister.
According to Shir this is a "necessary law in Israel's legal system in which there is only one public office which allows individuals with criminal charges to serve and that is the position of prime minister."
"It is time to return the glory and splendor to the State of Israel," she said.
