The non-profit organization Regavim has denounced the Interior Security Minister's instructions to bring for his approval any enforcement actions against illegal construction in East Jerusalem and the Negev.
Meir Deutsch, director of Regavim, said, "This is a scandalous decision by the Interior Security Minister, who for some reason intends to run the law enforcement system in accordance with his personal worldview, and not in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel. It is an obvious attempt to apply illegitimate political pressure on law enforcement agencies. One can only imagine what would have happened if a right-wing minister had made the opposite demand."
