Ruth Pearl, mother of Jewish American journalist Daniel Pearl, died last week at the age of 85, her husband Judea confirmed, according to The New York Times.
Judea did not state the cause of his wife's death.
Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered in 2002, while reporting in Pakistan for The Wall Street Journal.
