The Knesset arrangements committee has authorized the proposal of the committee's chairman, MK Nir Orbach, to establish and appoint members to five temporary committees, each one with its own committee chair.

The five committees are: a special committee for the rights of the child, to be headed by MK Michal Shir (New Hope); a special committee for foreign workers, headed by MK Ibtissam Mara'ana (Labor); a special committee for dealing with alcohol and drug addiction, headed by MK Ram Shefa (Labor); a committee for public complaints, headed by MK Yael Ron Ben Moshe (Blue & White); a special committee for oversight of Israeli citizens' funds, headed by MK Mossi Raz (Meretz).

MK Idit Silman (Yamina) noted that two further temporary committees will also be appointed in the near future, to be headed by MKs from parties in the opposition.
