Israel Hayom reported that following an accelerated outbreak of the fourth wave of COVID infections and alarming data on the decline in the effectiveness of vaccines against the Delta variant of the virus, doctors and senior health officials in Israel are calling on the Ministry of Health to immediately provide all residents 60 years and above with a third dose of the vaccine.
According to the report, experts are also suggesting a third dose for all at-risk individuals with a compromised immune system. Some have also suggested vaccinating all hospital staff with a third dose.
