The IDF is investigating an incident in which, during the IDF's artillery shelling of Lebanon in response to gunfire aimed at Israel last week, one of the shells deviated from its trajectory and landed a kilometer and a half from the target, according to a KanReshet Bet report.
A spokesman for the army said that, "...One of the shells misfired due to technical error in an incident that is under investigation. [The army] will derive the necessary lessons from the [mistake]. We emphasize that the misfired shell fell in an open area..."
