With a little under two months to go before the Rosh Hashana holiday, hundreds of Breslov hassidim have gathered in the Ukrainian city of Uman, cite of Rebbe Nachman's grave.

The hassidim have asked local officials to provide them the necessary provisions for marking the holiday but Israeli health experts are concerned about the mass influx of individuals returning from an eastern European state with a high rate of COVID infections.

Minister of Religious Affairs, MK Matan Kahana, said he was working on a plan to get the pilgrims back into the country after undergoing virus testing and a period of quarantine.
