An inscription from the days of the Judges that relates to the Book of Judges was uncovered in an archeological excavation at Horbat al-Ra'i, near Kiryat Gat. The rare inscription bears the name "Yerubael" in Aleph-Bet writing, and dates to around 1,100 BCE.

It was written in ink on pottery, and was found in a storage silo dug into the ground, lined with stones.
