The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has approved legislation proposed by MK Sharon Haskel that will decriminalize personal use of cannabis.
The draft proposal stipulates that adults will not be held criminally liable for possession of cannabis in a non-public place, in an amount that indicates it is for personal use. In addition, the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance will be amended and the clause regarding CBD removed, as it has been recognized as having anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, as well as proven abilities in destroying cancer cells, without the psychoactive effect of a dangerous drug.
