The IDF revealed today (Sunday) that over the past four years, 990 cases of drug smuggling have been carried out on the Egyptian-Israeli border, of which 280 have been foiled by the IDFs Shield of the Negev program.
The program includes, among other things, additional security for military bases in the area, a dedicated unit to find and destroy greenhouses, and increased police presence in the region.
