Atty. Shiran Bergman, who represents Carmel Meuda on behalf of the Public Defender's Office, responded to the verdict against her.
"Despite the fact that the prison sentence handed down to Carmel is far from the sentence the state requested, the sentence handed down is still a severe one. The court in its ruling also gave weight, albeit not enough in our opinion, to the brutal public trial Carmel and her family went through," the lawyer said.
