The upright section of the Champlain Towers South, the Surfside, Florida, building which suffered partial pancake collapse last week, will be destroyed within days, officials said.
The demolition, which was moved up due to an approaching tropical storm, will allow rescuers to safely search the site for survivors.
So far, 24 people have been confirmed dead in the collapse. Another 124 are still missing.
